However, not all fangames will get officially endorsed or licensed for the initiative due to copyrights, vulgar content, etc. While it is clear that the Fazbear Fanverse games are confirmed to be officially part of the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise as a whole, they will remain in their own continuity (although POPGOES and Five Nights at Candy's are confirmed to take place in the same universe) and thus not canon to the story of any official continuities of the original Five Nights at Freddy's series. As far as his involvement, Cawthon said he is simply funding everything and letting the creators work on their projects and interact with the community at large as they normally would. More series may be added to the project in the future depending on the success of the initial releases. Series involved will also end up producing official merchandise, such as Youtooz collectibles and plush toys. This must be done for another part of the project: releasing these series for sale on console and mobile devices in series bundles. Along with that, some older games in the various series will be remade due to the use of assets that were either copyrighted or made by uninvolved people. As such, he will help fund the development of new games for these series. Cawthon's goal with this project is to support creators of some of the most popular Five Nights at Freddy's-inspired fangames out there.
